Some Background

I enjoyed a long Southern childhood spent up trees, in creeks, and at softball fields in Jackson, Mississippi. A proud product of the public school system, I graduated from Mississippi School for Math and Science, and followed my family legacy to Mississippi State University where I rang that cowbell proudly and illegally. I began a degree in Aerospace Engineering, and promptly switched to English — no, not to be a teacher. After four wonderful years of learning how to think, I graduated, married my high school sweetheart (he just didn’t know it back then) and moved back home to Jackson.

I now work for an unidentified branch of the Federal government. Let's just say I have "security clearance" and a magic ID badge that opens locked doors.

So the original purpose of this blog was to post about my sewing projects. But when I started I didn't know much about sewing, so it just became an avenue to litter the internet with whatever I wanted (it's ok, nothing's illegal online). And then I realized a few people actually read it. So, I try to be funny (and you can tell I try really hard) and informative for those of you that don't think I'm funny.
I started teaching myself how to sew shortly after we were married in 2009, with the help of lots of "doit-yourself" books and anyone that would help me learn. And I have been learning everything I can ever since. My husband will confirm, the addiction is just growing. But thankfully along with that, I am getting better as well, and have high hopes to make it a lucrative enterprise one day. You can see the projects I've completed on my sewing page.
